Steve Shaw Named Chief Operating Officer of Keolis North America
Public transportation industry veteran joins Keolis on executive committee as first COO
Serving as the first COO for Keolis North America, Steve has full accountability for U.S. transit operations. These duties expand on his previous role at Keolis where he served as the President and CEO of Keolis Transit America. In that role, Steve led bus operations across the U.S., established Keolis’ presence across geographies, and drove its growth through successful contract wins and renewals.
“Steve’s experience in our industry and at Keolis make him an invaluable member of the Keolis team,” said David Scorey, Keolis North America CEO. “I’m excited to have him on our executive committee as our first-ever COO for Keolis North America. I anticipate his many contributions to Keolis to include continued contract growth and strong service delivery for our partners and passengers.”
Steve has worked for more than 40 years in the transit industry, beginning with his family business, Shaw Bus Service in Baltimore, MD. There, he advanced through multiple leadership positions while under family ownership and after acquisition by Laidlaw Transit. He would later work with Veolia Transportation for eight years as regional vice president for the northeast region, including Canadian operations.
“Keolis’ reputation of delivering value for its partners is second to none,” said Steve. “I’m looking forward to building on our reputation as the partner of choice for transit agencies and the employer of choice within our industry.”
Steve initially joined Keolis Transit America in August 2013 as Chief Operating Officer and was appointed to the position of CEO in 2014. In 2019 he began work as a private consultant, advising Keolis among other clients.
