KEOLIS WILL OPERATE URBAN SECTION OF THE FIRST PUBLIC TRANSPORT NETWORK IN THE ISSOIRE MUNICIPAL GROUPING

On November 3, 2022, Agglo Pays d’Issoire has awarded Keolis the contract to operate urban public transport in Issoire (Puy-de-Dôme). This is the first public transport network (except for school transport) established across the area’s 88 municipalities. The contract will begin in July 2023 and last four years.

The urban part of the Agglo Pays d’Issoire network will offer the first public transport service to 15,000 residents of the town centre. It will be structured around two regular lines and one transport-on-demand line. Before the service is launched, Keolis will be tasked with installing a new depot with charging terminals for three fully electric minibuses.

Keolis will support Agglo Pays d’Issoire with its environmental plans by launching and operating a fleet powered entirely by electricity. The Group has also undertaken to provide real-time passenger information showing the locations of the vehicles.

With this contract, Keolis is strengthening its presence in Puy-de-Dôme, where the Group already operates the urban networks in Riom and Thiers, and more broadly in the AuvergneRhône-Alpes region, where it is the leading operator, managing the networks in Bourg-enBresse, Bourgoin-Jallieu, Chambéry, Greater Lyon, Miribel, Montluçon, Moulins, Nyons and Oyonnax.

KEY FIGURES FOR THE CONTRACT

  • 3 electric vehicles (22 seats)

  • 28 stops served

  • 63,000 kilometres travelled per year

  • €1.3 million of cumulative revenue
