Four midday, off-peak trains temporarily replaced by shuttle buses to allow for construction

September 14, 2026 (BOSTON) – The MBTA and Keolis Commuter Services (Keolis), the T’s operations and maintenance partner for Commuter Rail, have announced that a temporary schedule for the Franklin/Foxboro Line will take effect on September 21. The temporary schedule will allow crews to replace railroad ties along the line, which will result in a smoother, more reliable ride for passengers once completed.

Beginning September 21 through late October, the following trains will be temporarily replaced by shuttle buses between Foxboro and Walpole for a connection with other Franklin Line trains:

• Train 1732 (the 10:42 a.m. train from Foxboro to South Station)
• Train 1748 (the 2:09 p.m. train from Foxboro to South Station)
• Train 1725 (the 8:43 a.m. train from South Station to Foxboro)
• Train 1739 (the 12:28 p.m. train from South Station to Foxboro)

Other trains throughout the day will have adjusted departure times. A full schedule will be available soon at mbta.com/cr.

The adjusted schedule will be in effect until late October, when shuttle buses will begin replacing additional midday trains so construction work can continue. A new schedule will be shared ahead of those changes.
